Here's a summary of the things we've been working on in the last few weeks

2021-02-23 (v4.8.3)

• Major - this release includes a brand new, totally re-worked system for Additional Rating Factors (ARFs) at MTA. Whereas this system was historically fiddly and hard to understand (as previous ARFs applied to the re-calculated premium and new premium separately pre pro-rata) the new system applies ARFs in isolation to the premium post pro-rata, meaning if an MTA has an additional premium of £5 and you want to discount to free you can simply enter an adjustment of -£5. This new system immediately replaces the old, and any old values you had applied for fees at MTA using ARFs will need to be re-entered. Controls for the new system are under a new "MTA" tab in the edit additional rating factors screen via the Console, and apply to scheme level and insurer level ARFs & overrides. 
• Major - the document display options have been revamped and grouped into 3 options: "Question set" (replaces the "Show alongside quote page" option), "Results page" (replaces the "show in results page" option) and "Confirmation" (replaces the "EXCLUDE from confirmation screen" option). Each of these options also has it's own "minimum required privilege" meaning you can show docs in each of these locations that only apply to advisers or super users in the system.  
• Major - the API endpoints for producing quotes have been given a speed improvement when used in schemes with multiple insurers that utilize a monthly payment option - by no longer calling the external credit provider for each insurer individually and only applying to the cheapest, the number of external roundtrips has been decreased and speed improved. We've also added a new "cache matrix" option per integrator that can be utilized for larger aggregators to prevent overhead per call by pre-loading the matrix data into a cache that expires after 15 minutes. 
• The new email template selector is now available to renewal quotes as well as new business.
• Cancellation calculations now correctly account for any applied broker discounts in previous transactions.
• Individual transaction refunds for cancellations are now rounded prior to the total being rounded to avoid rounding error in the total invoiced amount.
• We've added a new "API" drop location for EDI messages, this new drop location will use your selected verb (POST/PUT/GET) to send the message body via a HTTP request to the endpoint and opens the possibilities for integrations with external providers and insuers.
• A client log entry is now added when a premium is unlocked / discarded.
• Improved UI of language selection.
• Added decimal precision option to custom variables to format then with the given number of decimals in documents and emails.
• The "saving" message in the question set journey will now only appear after the process has been running for 1 second and will show a "this is taking longer than usual" message instead, this prevents the message being shown for a short period of time and causing glitches in the UX.

You will see these new changes available on the live site from around 1PM. If you host CFS on your own AWS instance changes will be active a little later, in line with usual release timeframes. Should you wish to not receive the update for your instance please notify us before 12pm.
