Import Clients

  1. This guide will show you how to use the “Import” function within Durell, to import clients from an Excel spreadsheet.
  2. Please note, the spreadsheet must be saved in ‘.xls’ format
  3. Review and cleanse your data before importing. Are there any cells that need work, like taking letters out of phone number fields, taking special characters out of email address fields, etc?
  4. To begin, from the front screen of Durell, click on “Setup”. On the next screen, double click “Import” from the list on the right hand side

  1. A new window will appear. Select the top option for importing from an Excel spreadsheet, then locate the file that contains your import data, by clicking on the “Browse” button

  1. Locate your file, then click “Open” to add the file to the import window

You will see the file path for the import data added to the import window. Select the address set you are looking to import the data into and then click on the “Connect” button to display the import data in the “Preview” window

  1. The column headers from your spreadsheet will appear in the grey top row. All that is left is to link your columns to fields in Durell. Do this by selecting a Durell field from the yellow drop down boxes. You can see I have already selected “Search Name” and “Phone (mobile)”.

  1. Once all columns have been assigned a Durell field, click on “Import”
