Setup or Check the Durell Maintenance Routine
- This guide will
show you how to setup or check the Durell maintenance routine. The steps below should
be followed while logged into your Server, or the lead machine/PC that holds
your Durell data.
- After ensuring you
are following these steps while logged into your server or lead PC, go to the
Windows Task Scheduler and create a new task
Fill in the “General” tab as shown, ticking “Run whether user is logged in or
not” and “Run with the highest privileges”
- On the Triggers tab, create a new Trigger and fill out the details as shown
below
(The precise timing of running the maintenance routine
running are up to you. I would advise doing the maintain after the backup has
finished and before the start of the working day)
- Under the Action tab create a new Action
- Start the program C:\imw-user\maintain.exe – this should
always be the same, for each company that uses Durell
In “Add Arguments” please insert the file path for the
Durell Data followed by “,true” (without quotation marks).
This needs to be the data path and not the mapped data
path. So if you have mapped a shared
folder as a drive you will need to use the shared folder file path, NOT the
mapped drive file path.
In example, if you have a folder on the C:\ Drive
called “Drive_S” and it is mapped as a network drive S:\ then you will need to
use the filepath “C:\Drive_S\imw-data\,true” and
not “S:\imw-data\,true”
This is because the drives are only mapped when a user
logs in, so if the user is not logged in when the schedule runs then the system
will not be able to find the drive S:\.
If the S:\ drive is a physical drive or a partition then
it is ok to use the S:\ file path:
·
- The “Conditions” and “Settings” tabs do not require any
changes and can beleft on their defalt setting
- Save and Exit, the task should now be scheduled to run, at
the time you requested
- Each morning the Compact Log should be checked to ensure the
Maintain is running successfully every day.
The compact log is in the imw-data folder and is called CompactLog.txt.
