Summing Merge Fields

  1. From within your Word Template, press CTRL and F9, to input an expression field

  1. Input your first merge field…

  1. (…you can right click and select “Toggle Field Codes” to see the merge field title…)

  1. Insert your second merge field, after the first one but still within the expression field…

  1. (…again, you can right mouse click and select “Toggle field codes” to reveal the merge field title…)

  1. Now insert an “=” after the first bracket and a “+” in between the two fields…

  1. Then, click “Preview Results” and the field should convert into a total figure of the two fields
